Vito Macchia
Vito Macchia è nato a Bressanone (BZ) il 25 febbraio del 1983, ma è cresciuto a Bitritto, in provincia di Bari. Nel 2009 ha conseguito la Laurea Specialistica in Ingegneria Informatica presso il Politecnico di Torino, indirizzo Automazione Industriale, con tesi in robotica dal titolo: “Application of HTM in a Computer Vision System for Mobile Robotics – Overview of the emerging HTM Technology”.
Da marzo del 2009 a settembre del 2011 ha lavorato come assegnista di ricerca presso il gruppo di Robotica (RRG) del Politecnico di Torino (prof. Bona), finanziato dal progetto regionale “MacP4Log”.
Durante questo periodo si è occupato principalmente di robotica mobile e visione artificiale, lavorando con telecamere stereo, telecamere omnidirezionali e Microsoft Kinect.
Da settembre del 2011 è impiegato come ricercatore all'Istituto Superiore Mario Boella nell'unità “Handheld and Usability” e attualmente si occupa dei progetti REPLY e WEBINOS.

Vito Macchia was born in Brixen (BZ) on February 25, 1983, but grew up in Bitritto, in the province of Bari. In 2009 he took the Master Degree in Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin, with specialization in “Industrial Automation”. Master Degree thesis subject was robotics and the thesis title was “Application of HTM in a Computer Vision System for Mobile Robotics – Overview of the emerging HTM Technology”.
From March 2009 to September 2011 he worked as research fellow in the Robotics Research Group (RRG) at the Polytechnic University of Turin (Prof. Bona), funded by the regional project "MacP4Log".
During this period his research was mainly focused on mobile robotics and computer vision, an he gained experience on stereo cameras, omnidirectional cameras and Microsoft Kinect.
Since September of 2011 he is employed as researcher at the Istituto Superiore Mario Boella in the “Handheld and Usability” unity and currently works for the REPLY and WEBINOS projects.
