ISMB hosts the User Workshop of GHOST Project

1 June 2016

Tuesday, June 7, ISMB will host the User Workshop of the H2020 Project GHOST (Galileo enhancement as boosters of the Smart Cities), which aims at developing a telematic system to automate the monitoring of Points of Interests in the context of the urban environment, including:
• Street Lighting
• Road deterioration
• Parking occupation
• Garbage collection

The implemented system consists of four elements:
• An embedded system, on-board the bus, which takes advantage of the Galileo satellite system for the collection of geo-referenced images
• A component of image processing, for the treatment and the automatic classification of collected images
• A mobile application to involve the citizen in the data collection process
• A Back-end platform, where all the information is gathered and that provide an interface to users and decision makers.

The GHOST project has a multidisciplinary consortium of European partners from industry, business and research of transport, including TELETEL (Greece), BITGEAR (Serbia), ARRIVA (Serbia), BUS COMPANY (Italy), IRIDA LAB (Greece) and ALPHA CONSULT (UK).

The workshop aims at gathering the relevant inputs from the participants to finalize the project and plan its future extensions. For this purpose, the system will be shown to the main stakeholders of the platform, including:
• The transport company ARRIVA
• The transport company SADEM
• The City of Belgrade and the Head of Transport
• The EXTRA.TO transport Consortium
SAS, the leading multinational Data Analytics
• SMEs in transport and urban management domains
