29 September 2015

On 15th and 16th of September  the Future INternEt Smart Utility ServiCEs (FINESCE) final Event took place in Berlin: under the heading “Utility 4.0”, around 100 representatives from the energy and the ICT industry, met to discuss about how Future Internet components enable the Smart Energy system of tomorrow.
The FINESCE Project combines the most modern ICT technologies and the Smart Grid, in a vision of environmental sustainability: a European priority, in the field of energy, combining the production from renewable sources and its efficient use through a smart management system, based on the introduction of the future internet technology.

ISMB, through the Advanced Computing and Electromagnetics Research Area, created an Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system that exploits the capabilities of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) utilizing the DLMS/COSEM protocol suite to interface pre-existing meters and the new – patented by ISMB and fabricated by TeamWare – with the FI-WARE cloud-based service oriented event-driven (SOA/EDA) architecture.
The software is released as “open source” and installed in Terni at the premises of ASM Terni customers. The trials which started on the 16th of January are still running.
