IGARSS 2015: Presentation of a Paper on FLOODIS Project

23 July 2015

Hosted by the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society, the International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium 2015 (IGARSS) is the world's premier symposium on the subject of remote sensing and will be held from Sunday July 26th through Friday July 31th, 2015 at the Convention Center in Milan, Italy. The conference main theme highlights the role of remote sensing for assessing, monitoring, and managing risks related to natural disasters.

On the 29th of July, Claudio Rossi, a researcher of the Mobile Solutions Area, will present the paper entitled “Coupling Crowdsourcing, Earth Observations, and E-GNSS in a Novel Flood Emergency Service in the Cloud”, which describes the FLOODIS architecture, which couples crowdsourcing, remote sensing - through the use of European EMS (Copernicus EMS), and European GNSS solutions (EGNOS), for improving the operational management in case of floods.
