The Textile & Clothing Business Labs H2020 Project Kicks Off Today

14 July 2015

The European project Textile & Clothing Business Labs (TCBL) funded by the EU under H2020 NMP Programme will kick off in Prato from the 14th to the 16th of July, involving ISMB. Our Institute will be represented by Enrico Ferro, the head of the Innovation Development Area, Michele Osella, the head of the Business Model and Policy Innovation (BMPI) Unit, and Michele Castagno, a researcher of BMPI. ISMB will be involved in the 48 month-long project with other 15 partners of 8 different Member States, led by the Municipality of Prato.

TCBL uses Textiles & Clothing (T&C) as test beds for dynamic optimisation and deployment of business models. The main objective is to increase the performance of this industry and thus to create a transformational ecosystem capable of constantly innovating the business and process models of the European Textile and Clothing sector. The challenge is how to exploit and govern the innovative trends within the sector to strongly re-direct EU’s T&C sector away from competing on price towards competing on knowledge, to reach economic, environmental, and social sustainability. In order to fully address this challenge on a global scale, the project will act on knowledge transforming processes as elements of an emergent business ecosystem.
