22 June 2015

Within the activities of the Activity Chain 3 “IoT innovation and pilots” of the Internet of Things European Research Cluster (IERC), Maurizio Spirito, the head of the Emerging Trends and Opportunities Function, has contributed as an author to the establishment of the IERC Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA). The agenda has been recently published by the IERC as part of the 6th edition of the Cluster book "Building the Hyperconnected Society - IoT Research and Innovation Value Chains, Ecosystems and Markets", that was launched officially in Lisbon at the opening of IoT Week 2015. Claudio Pastrone and Francesco Sottile from the Pervasive Technologies Area have also supported the SRIA as contributors on behalf of the ALMANAC and BUTLER projects respectively.

Furthermore, included in the 6th edition of the Cluster Book, Maurizio Spirito and Maria Teresa Delgado (Pervasive Technologies Area) have authored a chapter on the “Internet of Things Application Scenarios, Pilots and Innovations” where a group of IoT EU-funded projects have been presented, with focus on the pilots and demonstrators they intend to delivered by the date of their completion. The chapter also includes an overview of the application areas targeted by the projects and an overall analysis of the projects’ consortia composition by country and by type of organization. Claudio Pastrone has also contributed to the chapter on behalf of the ALMANAC project, coordinated by ISMB.
