ISMB Member of BDVA Will Take Part in the Forthcoming Madrid Summit

ISMB, as a full member of the Big Data Value Association (BDVA), will take part in its first Summit organized in Madrid from 17th till 19th June 2015. Its purpose is "To drive forward the Big Data Value ecosystem and its Digital Agenda for the benefit of Europe, its Companies and Citizens; and to engage in the Big Data Value Public Private Partnership, its Programme and Opportunities".

The event provides for a full 3 day agenda: the first day will be dedicated to keynotes of industry leading speakers in domains from banking to gaming and from the European Commission to technologists, while on Days 2 and 3 there will be over 50 working sessions organized to operationalize the Big Data Value Public Private Partnership to achieve maximum impact in Europe and where each session is expected to deliver tangible outcomes to enable and influence the horizon for 2020 and beyond. In addition there will be an exhibition corner where organizations having solutions around Big Data can make demonstrations.

During the summit Alfredo Favenza, a researcher at the Mobile Solutions Area promoting the membership to BDVA, has been invited to moderate the “Emerging Research Themes in Big data” session, that will be held on Friday the 19th of June. The event will also host the meeting kick-starting the EuDEco User Expert Group, where Michele Osella, head of Business Model and Policy Innovation Unit, will illustrate the vision proposed by FREME project.
