Tomorrow ASSIST Awareness Event in Brussels

15 April 2015

Tomorrow Fabrizio Dominici, the head of the Mobile Solutions Research Area, will coordinate the ASSIST Awareness Event, that will be held in the premises of the European Association of Operators of Toll Road Infrastructures (ASECAP) in Brussels. The meeting will involve the members of COOPER II (the Permanent Committee of ASECAP dealing with safety and road maintenance issues), among which there are the main European professional associations in the field of motorways and road infrastructures

During the event, the ASSIST consortium (made up of ISMB as project coordinator, Giletta, GeoVille, and ALPHA Consult) will present main results obtained by the project, that delivered a comprehensive feasibility study on the technical and economic sustainability of a winter road maintenance system based on space technologies. The Swedish Transport Administration and the Norwegian Public Roads Administration will also attend the meeting to share their experience as test users of the ASSIST system during the Proof-of-Concept phase. Moreover, it is expected the contribution of a technical officer at ESA, which funded the project under the ARTES 20 Feasibility Study “Space based services for winter road maintenance”.
