ISMB's Key Role at the International Workshop on Internet of Things in Trieste

13 March 2015

The Higher and Professional Education Function collaborated with the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) to define the programme of the “Workshop on Scientific Applications for the Internet of Things (IoT)”, which will be held from 16th to 27th of March 2015 in Trieste. This initiative is the result of a long time collaboration in the field of satellite navigation, that now deals with the new paradigm of Internet of Things.

Within the workshop, ISMB is in charge of providing theoretical lessons in various aspects of the IoT domain, given by Mirko Franceschinis, a researcher of the Pervasive Technologies Area. He will start by introducing some general concepts, followed by the analysis of wireless technologies used in IoT. Then he will focus on Internet of Things’ architectures and applications.

The workshop involves speakers and participants coming from all around the world, selected by the organizing committee in order to gather high-level and international practioners. The sponsors – that also give prestige of the workshop – are: International Telecommunications Union (ITU), Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC) and NetworkTheWorld (NTW).
