The New H2020 FREME Project Will Kick Off in Berlin

3 February 2015

The FREME (Open Framework of E-Services for Multilingual and Semantic Enrichment of Digital Content) project will kick off on 5th and 6th February in Berlin. It is funded by the Horizon 2020 Program, within the Call ICT-15-2014 “Big Data and Open Data Innovation and take-up”.

FREME will build an open innovative commercial-grade framework of e-services for multilingual and semantic enrichment of digital content. It will be based on a reusable set of open Application Programme Interfaces (APIs) and Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) to FREME enrichment services. The solution will be generic, flexible, and reconfigurable to ensure its long-term viability and capability for further extension and advancement.

FREME is coordinated by the German research centre DFKI, while the other partners involved are: Tilde (Latvia), iMinds (Belgium), Agro-Know (Greece), Wripl (Ireland), VistaTEC (Ireland), Institute for Applied Informatics (Germany), and ISMB. Our Institute will play a leading role in the project: the Innovation Development Research Area will take care of business planning and business modelling activities, as well as engagement with Data Value Chain industry. Moreover ISMB will coordinate the dissemination of FREME results, exploitation, and impact maximisation including communication.
