EU Security: TRITON Selected by European Commission for CP EXPO 2014

The TRITON project is hosted at European Commission stand at “CP EXPO 2014 - The global expo-conference on Community Protection” in Genoa, Italy, from 9th to 11th December 2014. The event - which is organized by Regione Liguria during the the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union - focuses on technologies in support of security.

TRITON is one among the eight projects on security selected by the EU Commission DG Enterprise and Industry to show in its stand in Genoa. These eight projects represent the commitment of EC in contributing to the European Union development through its security research programme and security industrial policy.

The TRusted vessel Information from Trusted On-board iNstrumentation (TRITON) is an R&D project - led by Marco Pini, head of Navigation Technologies Research Area - that gives some of the possible answers to the threats in maritime environment, focusing on increasing the trustworthiness of on-board instrumentation used to report vessel information to the control organisms. The project involves two Research Areas at ISMB: Navigation Technologies and Multi-Layer Wireless Solutions.

Researchers at Navigation Technologies Area will present TRITON project to the CP EXPO attendees in the EU Commission stand on Tuesday 9th from 11.00 to 11.30 and on Thursday 11th from 12.30 to 13.00.
