ISMB's Speech on Algorithms for People Tracking and Fall Detection at VCIP 2014

3 December 2014

ISMB will participate in the 2014 edition of the IEEE Visual Communications and Image Processing (VCIP) Conference, which will take place in Valletta (Malta) during 7-10 December 2014. Since 1986 VCIP has been an important forum for the exchange of fundamental research results and technological advances in the field of visual communications and image processing. Main topics dealt at the event will be: emerging techniques for next generation video and image coding, advanced techniques for 3D videos, systems and techniques for human interaction, embedded systems and architecture implementations, and Cloud multimedia applications and services.

During one of the conference sessions, Luca Boulard, a researcher at the Multi-Layer Wireless Solutions (MLW) Area, will present a paper entitled "Insights into the Role of Feedbacks in the Tracking Loop of a Modular Fall-detection Algorithm". This article reports on some of the algorithms developed in the FaPre project for people tracking and fall detection. The role of information feedbacks from advanced pipeline stage to the earlier one is discussed.
