ISMB Presents an e-Health Project at the SENSO Conference

20 October 2014

ARCSIS, a French professional association of electronics actors, in collaboration with the Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne - CMPGC and the Secured Communicating Solutions (SCS) competitiveness cluster, organizes the Sensors, Energy harvesting, wireless Network & Smart Objects (SENSO) Conference. The SENSO conference will take place from October 22nd to 24th, 2014, in Gardanne (Aix-en-Provence area, France).

At the event ISMB will present a poster entitled “Electric Stimulation of Cardiosphere Culture. Heart failure is the leading cause of death worldwide and the strategy of transplanting stem cells into damaged myocardium is emerging as a novel alternative in the treatment of this disease. There is a variety of stem-cells and progenitor-cells that might be used to regenerate myocardium. In particular, Guido Pagana, a researcher at the Smart Health Strategic Program, will illustrate an e-Health project realized in collaboration with the Politecnico di Torino and the Cardio Center Ticino of Lugano, which focuses on a particular type of cardiac stem cells called “cardiosphere”, and the device and the software used to stimulate them.
