ISMB at the OCOVA AlpMedNet Forum

12 September 2014

ISMB will take part in the Forum organized within the OCOVA AlpMedNet (Oggetti COmunicanti e VAlorizzazione ALPi-MEDiterraneo NETwork) european project. The project aims at promoting innovation for the ALCOTRA territories (Piedmont, Liguria, Rhône-Alpes, and PACA), through the creation of partnerships between the involved actors in order to match the needs of users and governments with the solutions developed by the ICT providers, which are based on smart objects and mobile services.

The event – which will take place on 16 and 17 September 2014 at the Château de Charance in Gap, in the Hautes-Alpes (France) – focuses on the smart energy issues (i.e. smart building and smart grid) and it includes workshops, conferences and an exhibition of prototypes and demonstrators. The forum will involve important industries and institutions, such as: ERDF, EDF, IBM, Schneider Electric, Orange, Cité des Energies (CEA), the University of Montpellier, Capénergies Innovation Cluster, SCS Innovation Cluster, Minalogic, ARCSIS, University of Genoa, and many others.

Paolo Brizzi, a researcher of the Pervasive Technologies (PerT) Area, will represent the Institute and the Smart Energy Strategic Program. He will illustrate Piedmont’s experiences developed in the field of smart building, presenting the Impress, SeemPubs and Dimmer projects. Furthermore, he will focus on GreenCom and PieVerde projects during the session on smart grid.

Finally, Paolo Brizzi will take part also in a brokerage event: this initiative of networking allows to meet several ICT and research players in order to promote and foster future cross-border collaborations.
