INDUSTRIAL COOPERATION

The objective of this project is to explore and demonstrate the benefits of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Positioning for GNSS users, leading to improved availability, accuracy, integrity, and acquisition in difficult environments.

In particular, the study explores and demonstrates these benefits for GNSS-users for the following two types of collaboration:

  • Collaboration by the exchange of GNSS-data only;
  • Collaboration by the exchange of GNSS-data as well as ranging between users based on short range wireless technologies (hybrid positioning).

The PerT research area has a key role in the development of hybrid and cooperative positioning algorithms and leads the development of the Positioning Tool: a Matlab-based system level simulator aimed at designing, testing and assessing the performance of the P2P positioning algorithms proposed throughout the study.
