EVA Florence 2014: ISMB presents the Innovating Contents project

ISMB will participate in the EVA Florence 2014, the Italian edition of the EVA Conferences International - Electronic Information, the Visual Arts and Beyond that will take place in Florence on May 7-8. The aim of this event is to provide a forum for users, suppliers and scientific research communities to meet and exchange experiences, ideas and plans in the wide area of culture and technology. The programme is organized in four sessions to provide participants with latest news on EC and international arts computing & telecommunications initiatives as well as on projects in the visual arts field, archaeology and history. Technical demonstrations are also planned.

Edoardo Calia, Vice Director for Strategic Programs at ISMB, will give a speech on the ISMB, the models for cooperating with enterprises and the participation of the Institute in cofunded programme like the Poli di Innovazione of the Regione Piemonte. In particular, he will present the Innovating Contents (IC) project funded within the Digital Creativity Hub. The project focuses on the design and prototyping of a system for the creation, distribution and transmedial fruition of rich media contents, based on 3D VR scenarios, VR objects/panorama and multimedia objects. Edoardo will also illustrate the prototye developed within the IC project, which allows for taking a virtual tour of the hall hosting the Peota - the last remaining original ceremonial boat manufactured in Venice in the 18th century - in the Reggia di Venaria Reale.
