Energy@home announces the first release of the JEMMA

Energy@home, a not-for-profit association that includes ISMB and that aims at the development and promotion of technologies and services increasing the energy efficiency in the home, announces the release of JEMMA (Java-based Energy Management Application framework) - an open-source framework that facilitates the development of energy management applications in homes.

Standing to the association vision, in the next future, devices should be turned into “smart” products, interacting each other and coordinating themselves in order to optimize energy consumption, increase energy efficiency, and create new services. Devices will be aware of their usage, to react to utilities signal and able to be monitored by end users anywhere-anytime

Jemma provides a complete, cloud-enabled home energy management solution allowing to virtualize, interconnect, monitor and control smart appliances, smart plugs, and any other user device compliant with the ZigBee Home Automation 1.2 standard ISMB, and in particular the Research Area Pervasive Technologies, will coordinate the project evolution, available on https://github.com/ismb/jemma
