ITS World Congress 2012

From 22 to 26 October 2012, ERTICO – ITS EUROPE, in close co-operation with its counterpart regional organisations and the Host organisation, is organising the 19 th World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems and Services (ITS) in Vienna, Austria.

Within the theme Smarter on the way, the Vienna ITS World Congress will deal with innovative systems for the improvement of mobility and focus on the benefits of ITS for all traffic participants.

ITS – Intelligent Transport Systems and Services – is the integration of information and communications technology with transport infrastructure, vehicles and users. By sharing vital information, ITS allow people to get more from transport networks, in greater safety and with less impact on the environment.

The ISMB's Research Area MLW presents a new urban propagation model for network simulators, which allows to obtain more reliable results (as foreseen by the EU project GAIN) and the evaluation of hidden terminal incidences in wireless vehicular communication.

Even the Research Area MIC – ISMB will contribute with a paper on salt spreaders: from heavy machines to intelligent systems. Marco Pasin from MIC will present the session.

In addition, the research area Information Management, with project partners Akhela, SSB and Experientia, presents the results of research AUTUMN - Automotive Human Net on innovative human-computer interaction solutions for driving safety.
