Claudio Rossi ha conseguito nel 2003 la laurea in Ingegneria dell’Informazione, rilasciata congiuntamente dal Politecnico di Torino e dall’Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INPG). Nel 2005 ha frequentato il Master in Electrical and Computer Engineering presso la University of Illinois a Chicago (USA). Nel 2006 ha ottenuto con lode la laurea specialistica in Ingegneria Elettronica presso il Politecnico di Torino, con la tesi dal titolo “A Partially Reliable Transport Protocol For Multiple-Description Real-Time Multimedia Traffic”. Dopo aver lavorato quattro anni in azienda, ha conseguito nel 2014 il titolo di dottore di ricerca in Ingegneria Elettronica e delle Comunicazioni presso il Politecnico di Torino, con la tesi dal titolo “Cooperation Strategies for Enhanced Connectivity at Home”.

Tra settembre 2006 e ottobre 2007 ha lavorato come analista programmatore al CSI Piemonte, occupandosi di analisi software, change management, configurazione ed automazione database. Tra ottobre 2007 e giugno 2010 ha lavorato come project manager in Fiat Group Automobiles, nell’ambito dell’International Manufacturing Engineering e in quello del World Class Manufacturing. Ha coordinato la realizzazione di un nuovo stabilimento in India per la produzione di autovetture in Joint Venture con Tata Motors e successivamente ha creato un sistema per la raccolta, la validazione, e la diffusione delle best practices in ambito lean manufacturing, partecipando inoltre all’ideazione di un enterprise social network finalizzato alla condivisione delle conoscenze, al team building ed alla comunicazione aziendale.

Da giugno 2010 a settembre 2012 ha collaborato col Politecnico di Torino come analista programmatore per la realizzazione di un social network per la pubblica amministrazione italiana e francese. Da settembre 2012 a marzo 2013 ha collaborato con Telefonica Research I+D di Barcellona (Spagna), dove ha realizzato un prototipo in grado di aggregare la banda disponibile della rete cellulare a quella della rete fissa residenziale al fine di migliorare le prestazioni di applicazioni Internet multimediali. Da marzo 2013 collabora con Telecom Italia Lab e il Politecnico di Torino nell’ambito del rilevamento e della stima dell’impatto di interferenti in reti WiFi.

Da luglio 2014 è ricercatore presso l’Area di Ricerca Mobile Solutions dell’Istituto Superiore Mario Boella, dove è coinvolto in diversi progetti del Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC).

Claudio Rossi received in 2003 a double bachelor degree in Engineering of Information from Politecnico di Torino and the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INPG). In 2005 he obtained a Master in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). In 2006 he graduated in Electronic Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino with laude. His thesis was titled “A Partially Reliable Transport Protocol For Multiple-Description Real-Time Multimedia Traffic”. After four years in the industry, in 2014 he got a PhD in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, with the thesis “Cooperation Strategies for Enhanced Connectivity at Home”.

Between September 2006 and October 2007 he worked as analyst programmer at CSI Piemonte, doing software analysis, change management, database configuration and automation. Between October 2007 and June 2010 he worked at Fiat Group Automobiles as project manager, initially in the International Manufacturing Engineering Department, and then in the World Class Manufacturing Headquarter. He coordinated the realization of a new passenger car plant in India, in a joint venture with Tata Motors, and subsequently he realized an ICT system for the collection, validation, and diffusion of best practices in lean manufacturing. He also contributed to the realization of an enterprise social network aimed at information sharing, team-building and enterprise communication.

Between June 2010 and March 2012 he worked at Politecnico di Torino as analyst programmer for the realization of a social network for the Italian and the French public administrations. From September 2012 to March 2013 he worked at Telefonica Research I+D in Barcelona (Spain), where he realized a system for bandwidth aggregation of the cellular network and the fixed residential network, aimed at fully supporting multimedia Internet applications. From March 2013 he has been working with Telecom Italia Lab and Politecnico di Torino, dealing with interference estimation and performance assessment in WiFi networks.

From July 2014 he is working as researcher within the Mobile Solutions Research Area at ISMB, in several projects involving the Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC).
